About the place
The museum is in the centre of Dragomirești, about 46 km from Sighetu Marmației and 7 km from Ieud. It occupies an 18th-century peasant house with a porch room and a pantry, a woven wattle fence and a tall wooden gate carved with verses. It opened in 2001 and is run under the town council.
The display shows the work and crafts of village women: costumes, household objects, tools and decorative pieces, plus a dowry collection of brightly coloured textiles with floral and geometric patterns. The yard has carved statues of women and a pot tree, a Maramureș custom. Google reviewers mention the guided tour. It holds 4.8 on Google from about 2,400 reviews.
